Hello All,

We are looking forward to seeing you this Saturday to race Crazy 8.

1. There will be Free parking on the Brechin Boat Ramp side. Parking passes are to be picked up by the Team Captains from the Registration desk (See Gus or Kathleen).

2. All Team Captains please check in at Registration and pick up your raffle draw tickets and update any boat information if you have not already done so.

3. For those clubs bringing boats, I have been asked to remind you to bring your wheels and tires as we do not have any for you to use.

4. There are no restrictions for the type of lifejackets (Vaikobi, waist pack, inflatables, 'regular')you wish to wear to race but you will need to wear one.

5. There are No water filling stations other than the tap in the washroom building

6. A large tent, tables, chairs and propane heaters will be set up, hopefully the weather will be cooperative and we won't need the latter like last year.

7. Two food trucks will be onsite (Hojo Eats & OneCool Cookie) for those wanting to grab a bite or a beverage.

8. There will be porta-potties as well as the ladies & men's washrooms.

9. Race Schedule:

Women at 10am, Men at 11:30, Mixed Open and Masters at 1pm, and Mixed Sr. Masters at 2:30pm. We have 2 Open Mixed Spec boats racing at 230 so prizes for the Open Mixed will not be handed out until after the second heat.

Steers meeting 30minutes before each heat.

Awards will be handed out after each heat.

Race Course

The Youth/Novice heat will be along Newcastle Channel (~6k). The full course is a 11- 12km figure eight, six-person outrigger canoe race, that starts at the Brechin Boat Ramp and loops around Saysutshun (Newcastle Island Marine) Park and Protection Islands.

Team Divisions:  Women’s, Men's, and Mixed.

Race Schedule

Women at 10am, Men at 11:30, Mixed Open and Masters at 1pm, and Mixed Sr. Masters at 2:30pm. 

Steers meeting 30minutes before each heat. Awards will be handed out after each heat.

Team registrations instructions for Crazy 8 & NPI Attack (doubles) team captain and team members:  

1. Set up an account.
2. Click Team Registration, select Crazy 8
3. Choose your division (Adult or Junior)
4. Choose Account Member to be the Team Captain
5. Create Team Name.
6. Choose which package applies to your team
7. Fill in all the racing team members email addresses and names, including the Team Captain, if they are racing
8. Click continue and WRITE DOWN INVITE CODE .
9. SEND link nanaimooceanpaddlingclub.rampregistrations.com and INVITE CODE TO YOUR TEAM MEMBERS. 
10. Team Members create their account
11. Team Members including the team captain if he/she are on the team click Register a team enter the invite code, click find team. 
12. Every team member including the team captain will get a confirmation email once they sign and submit their waiver.
